Dr. Wilkerson is a medical doctor who has received specialty training in surgery, diagnosis and management of disorders of the eye. Although ophthalmologists focus on the eye, Dr. Wilkerson understands that the eyes work in coordination with other parts of the body. His medical training and years of experience allows him to recognize, detect, and treat many health related conditions. Dr. Wilkerson proves excellent in coordination of patient care with primary care physicians.
Dr. Wilkerson completed his training, as co-chief resident, at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences; Madison, WI.
Dr. Wilkerson specializes in treatment of cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, eye injuries, and many other acute and chronic eye conditions.
Dr. Wilkerson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Montana Academy of Ophthalmology, where he served as President, Montana Medical Association, The Rotary Club, and the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce. He has participated in medical mission work in Africa and performed voluntary eye surgery in Central America.
Dr. Wilkerson has been serving the Helena area since 2004.
