Decorative contacts are not “dress up”, they are a medical device that can be dangerous.  Purchasing these contacts from a seller that does not ask for a prescription is illegal and unsafe.

If you want to take your costume from “cool” to “amazing” with decorative contacts, then find a local optometrist and schedule an eye exam with a contact lens fit.

Here are a few other safety tips:

  • Check your child’s costume mask for any sharp edges or loose pieces. A scratch to the face or eyes can be very painful
  • Use hypoallergenic makeup around the eyes
  • Bring a washcloth to wipe away makeup that might get into your child’s eyes as they are running around
  • Be visible to others

Be safe and have fun this Halloween season.
